The Duvert family have owned Château Materre, an estate producing an excellent red wine entitled to the Bordeaux Supérieur appellation since 1823. This estate is located in Cénac, a small winegrowing villageon the pilgrim road to Santiago de Compostela. Dating from the 17th century, the estate covers 30 hectares, including 20 hectares of vines in a single block. The name Materre is believed to be that of a Napoleonic general who owned the estate in 1797. The family also manages the negotiant business for a number of other properties which can be found below.
